I’ve recently had a light bulb moment. I’ve decided to retrain and go for an Early Years teaching qualification. But there’s a catch! I have to retake my Maths & Double Science GCSE!!!!!!!
In my head, I mentally kick my teenage self in the face everyday for not working harder on these subjects at school! I’ve always referred to myself as an ‘English person and not Maths’ but that stops now!
I have to get at least a grade C in both subjects before I can do the Early Years course, so I’ve been studying 2.5-3 hours every night to try and cram it all in (hence my I’m very tired looking selfies and looking like I’ve been dragged through a bush backwards ).
Although it’s most certainly a challenge, it feels so good to face my Maths & Science demons and get my brain working again! Tonight I learnt all about Fractions…this forced me to eat a Double Chocolate Magnum due to me stressing out!
I’ve had a couple of tantrums when I don’t understand or forget a method, 2 minutes after being taught it, but my Husband has been brilliant in snapping me out of it (usually with the promise of wine or chocolate-what better motivator?)
I’m doing my course through ICS and so far it’s been brilliant! It’s all online, you watch your lessons on YouTube and they provide the course books online to. You can also pay in monthly instalments to!
