We were pleasantly surprised with Epcot. When originally planning our itinerary for the two weeks, we only pencilled in a half day for Epcot, but as it happens we ended up spending a whole day exploring. There is so much to see, that we were all thoroughly entertained and it was a great way to relax ourselves into the holiday.
The girls were rocking their Anna dresses and were ready for the Frozen Ever After ride, their excitement levels were very high! We got to the Park around 8.30am, which was the perfect time because there was hardly any queues to get into the park. You have to go through security, who check your bags and buggy and then you scan your pass and fingerprint to get into the park.
We headed straight for the Frozen Ever After Ride, but we did get side tracked by Minnie Mouse, I mean who could blame us? Both of the girls were extremely excited to meet her but Flo bottled it at the last minute and needed Mummy to escort her. Unfortunately by the time we made it to the Frozen ride, we had an hour wait, luckily I had snacks to throw at the girls (seriously you need to pack lots, they will be a real life saver), but the ride was well worth the wait.
If you’re planning a trip to Disney World make sure you practice your firm “no”, there is way too much temptation for kids and so many gift shops, that they don’t know what to do with themselves. Bella is a teddy addict and Disney World isn’t doing her addiction any favours. Flo on the other hand isn’t bothered, she walks through the gift shop and barely bats an eyelid.
As well as rides, character meet and greets, Epcot is a World Showcase where you can visit 11 different countries including France, Italy, Germany, China and of course Britain. It’s done so well and everything is themed to that county including the surroundings, the food and drink, the stalls and the staff are also dressed accordingly. We stopped off at Germany to have a fruit beer in the sun and then wandered to Britain to have Fish n Chips, we just couldn’t resist.
The Finding Nemo ride was great and meeting Crush was the highlight of the day. It’s so cleverly done and very interactive. There are Sharks and Dolphins and a variety of tropical fish and a giant Bruce for you to have a photo with. They are planning a big renovation for Epcot with lots of exciting rides and attractions, so if you’re planning a trip to Orlando it will be well worth a visit.
There are also lots of character meet opportunities and you can meet Princesses including Belle and Snow White. I highly recommend that you check out Epcot, it’s well worth a visit. I’m so glad we didn’t rule out visiting as it was such a great day out!
