We wrapped up warm and braved the miserable weather this morning to visit Santa at Tulleys Farm in West Sussex. It was our first time visiting Tulleys Farm and we were very impressed. The tickets aren’t cheap, but you definitely get your money’s worth.
There are lots of fun, festive activities included in the price of your ticket including;
Gingerbread Man Decorating Class
Mrs Claus ran a Gingerbread decorating class and each child had a Gingerbread Man, icing and a stick and sweeties for decoration. Bella ate most of the sweets before the class began but it was a nice treat to keep them going before lunch.
Reindeer Food Kit
There were three Reindeer food stations in a cabin including Barley, Bran & Oats and the kids were given a plastic bag to fill up. The idea is to pack a bag of Reindeer food ready to put out for Santa’s Reindeers on Christmas Eve.
Build a Bear
When the kids visit Santa, he gives them a star for them to exchange for a toy or they can build their own bear. There is a good selection of teddies to choose from. After you’ve picked your teddy, you choose a heart, grab a bag of stuffing and then the kids stuff the teddy bear themselves. There is a zip at the back to keep it all contained.
They then get a Birth Certificate for their Teddy’s and there is a selection of outfits (at an additional cost) for the teddy bears, if you wish to buy. Bella picked a Spider-Man outfit for her Husky Dog teddy.
Sleigh Ride
It’s a sleigh ride farmer style. You all board the ‘sleigh’ and have a short tractor ride to Santa’s cabin. The staff dressed as elves were brilliant with the kids and very interactive. Be warned you do need to get to the sleigh ride 10 minutes before your time slot.
Santa
Of course the price includes a visit to Santa. After your sleigh ride, you all enter Santa’s cabin as a group and you sit in rows on benches. Santa pretends to be asleep so the kids all need to shout to wake him up. Santa then talks to the children and tells a story of why he ended up at Tulleys Farm.
The kids then have the opportunity to meet Santa and have a photo taken with him. Flo was having none of it and screamed blue murder so Bella had Santa to herself.
There is also a puppet show, Elves Enchanted Forest and a 3D Cinema included in the price but we didn’t managed to get around to them. There are also additional extras including rides, ice skating, traditional fair ground games, food stalls and of course a gift shop.
Overall it was a real fun & festive experience and we will definitely go back next year. We really liked the fact that it was a morning or an afternoon out rather than just your average trip to see Santa.
