Is anyone else in Christmas limbo? The time between Christmas Day and New Years Eve is always a strange one; It’s still acceptable to eat chocolate gold coins for breakfast, it’s rude to get dressed before 10am and you genuinely have no idea what day it is. We have spent a lovely, chilled out Christmas with family and it was so nice to take a social media break.
I’m now back and I just wanted to bring you up to speed! The elves are now back in the North Pole (Thank goodness for that) and they brought the girls their Christmas Eve boxes and set up a special Christmas Eve breakfast. The girls were bouncing off the walls with excitement on Christmas Eve, but by some miracle they were both fast asleep by 7pm, #mumwin. My parents spent Christmas at ours and we kick started the festivities with a Chinese and fizz.
Flo woke at 6am on Christmas morning and I woke to her little, excited voice saying “ho ho ho has been”. She loved rummaging through her stocking, we gave her 5 minutes and then we woke Bella, as she gets FOMO, so I knew she would have a right mood on, if I had left her asleep in bed. We managed to keep the girls upstairs until 6.30am and then it was time to descend downstairs to jump on Nanny & Grandad.
The present opening was a bit chaotic. Bella was like a tornado, ripping off the wrapping paper, tossing her gift to one the side, ready for the next one. Flo was a lot cooler, stopping each time to appreciate her new toy. In the end there was a pile of Flo’s presents left under the tree, where she had lost interest. Teddy (my parents dog) was just as bad as the girls, sniffing out his presents under the tree and frantically unwrapping them.
Flo loved her Dr kit, Elsa dress and her Baby Kid doll set and Bella loved her How to Train Your Dragon Playmobile, Fuzzikins and Siamese cat teddy. I literally spent the whole day tidying up, the girls new toys were everywhere, it was like a toy factory had exploded in the living room. I still haven’t found a home for the girls new toys.
On Boxing Day we headed to Nana & Grandad’s where we spent a lovely, couple of days. The girls love venturing to the top of the house to play in their room. Bella requested Frozen 2 soundtrack 50 times whilst making her new Elsa doll dance, of course Flo joined in and Cinderella made some shapes on the make believe dance floor. The girls shared a room for the first time and the little minxes didn’t actually go to sleep until gone 9pm.
The day after Boxing Day we blew off the cobwebs and took a stroll to the park. The girls loved being outside and they burnt off some energy. It all got a bit too much for Flo and she crashed on the sofa to have a danger nap. Thankfully the girls settled a lot sooner the second night.
I really didn’t take as many pictures as I normally do, I was too busy enjoying the moment rather than trying to capture it. We have a crazy couple of weeks ahead, we are moving house in two weeks time and off to Orlando in three weeks, we haven’t done any packing and I’m totally unprepared (send virtual wine). First things first, New Years Eve, we are hosting one last party in our house before we move.
I hope you’ve all had lovely Christmases. Thank you so much for all your support this year and for actually taking the time to read my blogs, I really appreciate it. Here’s to an amazing 2020, stay tuned for Disney spam and me probably having a break down over moving house!
