We had a fun (and rather sticky) afternoon at Tom Kerridge’s Pub In The Park at Dunorlan Park in Tunbridge Wells. The sun was beating down, the air was full of heavenly food aromas-thanks to the many gourmet pop up restaurants. Tom Kerridge’s two Michelin-starred pubs, The Hand & Flowers and The Coach, plus an amazing selection of other top restaurants & pubs were on hand to serve their best dishes.
There was an amazing selection of stalls selling all sorts of yummy food & drink goodies. From Tom Kerridge’s Pork Crunch Scratchings (my Hubby’s fave was the Extreme Chilli flavoured ones), to different flavoured fudge, to cheese stands and vintage milkshakes, you really were spoilt for choice. There was even a kids cinema too, which offers a welcoming relief from the sun.
There was also a Chef Demo Stage where a variety of chefs share their top tips and give cooking demonstrations. We saw a demonstration by the fabulous Stephen Terry, owner & chef of top Abergavenny restaurant The Hardwick. It was also one of the only spots that was in the shade, so we decided to give the kids their lunch whilst we watched the demonstration.
Bella got her mitts on a vintage milkshake and thoroughly enjoyed it. We went to Pub In The Park with our friends Emma, James and baby Hugo (10 months). If you have young babies and children, I would definitely recommend that you pack a picnic for them. The food is amazing but it’s gourmet so it’s rather rich for younger palettes.
After we finished stuffing our faces, we headed over and based ourselves by the Main Stage where we enjoyed live music from Stefan James & Sound of Sirens. They were both really good and the girls enjoyed the music. It was rather scorching today so after 4 hours, the kids were red faced, sweaty and fed up, so we decided to call it a day and headed back to ours.
The kids did amazingly well in the heat today. We all really enjoyed Pub In The Park but thought it could of done with some more shaded spots and maybe more to keep kids entertained. My Hubby and I definitely want to book tickets next year, but we want to go Friday evening without the girls. I definitely recommend that you check out the website https://pubintheparkuk.com
