I had a fun, packed Mother’s Day at Drusillas yesterday! It was our first time visiting and we all had a blast! The weather was amazing! We literally just missed that dreadful, downpour-Thank You sunshine!
Our day had a rocky start with Bella constantly saying that everything was scary (it’s her new thing) and ‘no’ to exploring (let’s hope she man’s up before Disneyland in November). But Thankfully after some lunch, she perked up massively (takes after her Mum) and she really enjoyed her day.
Drusillas is great for families with small children, as there is so much to do and it’s not too spread out. There are lots of information points around, which are interactive so it’s an educated day out for kids too (although Bella refused to push any sort of button as it was ‘too scary’).
Her favourite parts were the Go Wild Awesome Play area, where she literally ran backwards and forwards for 30 minutes non stop, shouting ‘I’ve got to keep going’. We all joined in at some point and did our exercise for the day.
She had a crazy 10 minutes on the trampoline. And then we made our way to Hello Kitty Secret Garden. By this point she was pretty shattered so the only ride she was willing to go on was the Hello Kitty cars.
She even got Nana to have a ride (I think Nana was secretly excited to have been asked).
Flo enjoyed her ride with Daddy! She really didn’t want to miss out, so she demanded to be carried most of the day! But she did have a big smile permanently on her face, so it was worth it.
We thought we’d fill Bella up with ice cream to give her one last kick to explore the indoor Soft Play area, which she enjoyed, until another little girl came to play on the bouncy balls and Bella didn’t like her face paint (it was “too scary”) and she started shouting at the little girl “my soft play”. We knew then it was time to go home.
Flo had a few firsts. It was her first time dining out and sitting in a proper high chair. Looking chilled as anything. She enjoyed her Ella’s Kitchen Peas.
It was also her first time on a swing and she loved it! I think she will be a little daredevil as she gets older. God help me!
Overall we had a brilliant day and can’t wait to go back in the summer. Hopefully Bella will be a bit more daring to try new things. If not I’m sure her sister will give her a run for her money! If you haven’t been to Drusillas before, it’s well worth a visit!
