It’s our second day in Cornwall and the sun is shining! We went to Newquay Zoo in the morning for a couple of hours and then drove to Fistral for lunch. We had lunch in Rick Stein’s restaurant and it was amazing! I think I can safely say it was the best fish and chips I’ve ever had.
Situated overlooking Fistral Beach, Rick Stein Fistral is the perfect spot, for a pit stop. The staff are friendly, the menu is well varied and the food is amazing. If your little one isn’t a fan of fish, they can choose from sausage & chips or vegetable curry. We ordered the girls cod bites & chips to share and the portion was very generous.
Bella isn’t the best of eaters and she normally turns her nose up at fish, but she couldn’t wait to tuck in. Flo was in a menacing mood and thought it was much more fun to lob her cod bites at mummy than eat them. She did eventually eat her lunch but decided that the crayons provided were way more nutritious #teething.
The average price for lunch is under £10 which is amazing value, considering the quality of the food and the stunning view. The restaurant has a nice and relaxed vibe and if you have little ones that don’t like to sit still in their high chairs, not mentioning any names Florence, you can take them outside for a walk and watch the surfers catch their waves.
There is a car park located right next to the restaurant which is also right next to Fistral Beach. You pay and display or parking is free after 6.30pm. The restaurant is open every day 10am-9pm and there is no need to pre book you can just walk in.
We weren’t prepared for the beach today but we plan to visit Fistral Beach again before we go home. If you’re visiting Cornwall soon and you plan to go to Fistral Beach, you must check out Rick Stein Fistral. I promise that you will not be disappointed!
