We’ve had the best, family day out today at the amazing Drusillas Park. Located in the beautiful Sussex countryside, Drusillas Park promises families a fun filled day out and believe me, you will not be disappointed. There is so much to see and do, children of all ages will be thoroughly entertained, including big kids like me.
We decided to check out the rides first. There are so many exciting children’s rides suitable for all ages. In Hello Kitty Secret Garden there are lots of great rides to choose from including; Hello Kitty Hopper Ride, Hello Kitty Car Ride, Hello Kitty Tea Cup Ride and you can even have a photo taken with Hello Kitty in her girly garden shed.
The girls loved Hello Kitty Secret Garden and I lost count of how many times we kept hopping on and off the rides repeatedly. Flo’s favourite Hello Kitty ride was the Hello Kitty Car Ride. She looked like professional at the steering wheel and she took it very seriously. Bella’s favourite was Hello Kitty Tea Cup Ride, especially when Daddy spun it really fast.
[wpvideo TX1v3UAw ]If you’re little ones are thrill seekers, they will love Go Safari! The Hippopotobus and The Flying Cheetahs are slightly faster paced. Bella loved both of these rides, but Flo didn’t fancy her chances! There’s also Mungo’s Adventure Maze, which we didn’t get around to doing but we’ve put it on our list for the next time we visit.
Brand new to Drusillas Park is the magical Rainforest Carousel. It really is beautiful, I absolutely love the design and with so many exotic animals to ride on, it’s such an exciting ride. Flo was getting hangry so we made a lunch pit stop at the Oasis Cafe. It was chicken nuggets & chicken burgers and chips all round. There are plenty of benches and there’s also indoor seating. The Oasis Cafe is located next to Go Bananas. You can also get food from the Explorer’s Cafe, The Doughnut Factory (not sure how I missed this!) and Amazon Adventure Cafe.
After lunch the girls had a blast at Get Wet, a splash pad and children’s water park. Bella absolutely loves water, so she really was in her element. There were lots of excited, girly screams as the girls chased each other. Get Wet is the perfect way to cool down on a summers day. Don’t forget to pack your little ones swimming costumes and towels when you next visit.
After the girls were dried & dressed we headed to the adventure playgrounds. There are two to choose from; Go Wild which has been designed for explorers aged 7-12 years old and Go Bananas which is suitable for mini explorers 6 years and under. This jungle themed playground has heaps to keep your little ones entertained. The girls didn’t know what to play on first.
Flo was up the rope ladder in no time (seriously she’s quite speedy) and she couldn’t wait to climb and explore with her big sister. The hammock type swings were a massive hit with both girls (and my hubby), both of the girls had a nice rest, whilst they laid back on the swings, lazily rocking to and fro. As you can see, it wasn’t much of a relaxing experience trying to prise Flo off the swing.
I managed to bribe both girls to reluctantly leave the swings, with the promise of candy floss #mumoftheyear. We already had so much fun and we still hadn’t visited the Zoo. From Meerkats to Ring Tailed Lemurs, to Penguins and of course Monkeys, there are so many wonderful animals to see. Flo thought the Meerkats were hilarious, especially when they were chasing each other around and Bella loved the Emperor Tamarins, because “they look like they have moustaches”.
On The Farm, was a huge hit with the girls. Drusillas Park’s new arrivals Custard & Cream, Jersey Calves, were a particular favourite and Flo loved saying hello to the Miniature Donkeys. Bella loved the singing chickens at the wash basin so much so she was singing the song the whole way home, “I’m going to wash those germs right off of my hands”.
All throughout Drusillas Park there are fun and interactive points that give children lots of facts about the animals they are seeing. It’s such a great way to encourage little ones to learn new things. Flo loved the animal noise board At The Farm and it kept her entertained for ages. There’s also Amazon Adventure, which is a jungle soft play area.
As well as all of these amazing attractions, Drusillas Park have so many exciting events happening. Today Kung Fu Panda was doing a meet & greet and there are lots more children’s favourites lined up to visit Drusillas Park this summer.
