The Royal Princess Ball was so amazing and so jam-packed full of Princess fun that I really don’t know where to start! Once Upon a Wish Events most certainly pulled out all of the stops and the Royal Princess Hall looked stunning. I loved the table plan at the entrance, it really helped your arrival run smoothly and the round tables were a good size, there was plenty of room for everyone and you didn’t feel cramped.
As soon as you step into the Royal Winter Ball the fun begins. The brilliant cheeky elves are great with the kids. They really encourage them to interact and they instantly put you in the festive party mood. When you’re inside the hall there are lots of things going on to keep little ones entertained before the show begins.
Cinderella was sitting pretty in her beautiful carriage and Snow White was waiting ready to take photos with her magic mirror. Tinker Bell was perched on the toadstools ready to meet and greet and smile for pictures. There was also a glitter tattoo station and a stall selling girly merchandise including fluffy tiaras, tutus, fairy wings and wands and all at affordable prices.
The show was started by Tinker Bell, followed by the Fairy Godmother who was the show narrator. I love how interactive the show was and the children were encouraged to get involved and they were invited to the front of the stage. The naughty elves had stolen Santa’s Magic Key and the children had to call out to Fairy Godmother whenever the elves appeared on stage or in the audience.
It turned out that they weren’t being naughty after all and they just wanted to borrow the key to make it extra shiny and magical for Santa. With the key returned, a celebration was in order and all the Once Upon a Wish Event cast members appeared on the stage and the party was well and truly started. The girls were totally engrossed and loved taking part in all of the princess themed games.
I really liked the system to meet Santa. Each table was given different coloured wristbands and each colour was called out during the ball, so you could nip out to meet Santa and then jump straight back into the party. The beautiful snow princess asked the girls to spin the wheel to determined if they were good or a cheeky monkey. Santa was brilliant and the girls each got a new book and there was also a £10 Once Upon a Wish Event voucher, which was a nice added extra.
The girls both really got involved and they loved every second. They shook their pom poms to Shake it Off and Bella held hands with Belle during the Princess Hokey Cokey. Flo made friends with Princess Jasmine and Bella’s face when the Fairy Godmother chose her as one of her Musical Statue winners was priceless. After the party games had come to an end it was time for the Princesses and children to change into their PJs.
Whilst the changing was happening, there was a picture of Aerial and colouring pens placed on each table and characters including Anna and Aurora was mingling with the children and posing for pictures. I think it’s a brilliant idea to encourage little ones to get changed into their PJs, because the event finished at 7pm, it meant I could get the girls straight to bed when we got home.
The party was kick started again with a scavenger hunt. The children were given a tick list of things that they had to find in the hall and when they had ticked off all their list, the Fairy Godmother rewarded them with a chocolate gold coin. There was then a game of snowball & spoon race, Bella took it very seriously and she managed to keep the snowball on the spoon. The children then watched in awe as Elsa sang Let it Go.
The children were then all asked to sit back at their tables and they were given a Christmas cupcake. The girls wasted no time in demolishing them and they all had red faces once they had finished. The whole Once Upon a Wish Events cast sang Silent Night beautifully, before a DJ took over and everyone was on the dance floor having a boogie to party hits.
The girls were ecstatic when they got the chance to dance with Cinderella, Prince Charming and Belle. I was so impressed with the Royal Winter Ball, from start to finish it was amazing, well organised and great value for money.
