Half Term Fun at Godstone Farm

We had the best day visiting Godstone Farm with friends yesterday. The girls had the biggest smiles on their faces the whole day, apart from when it was home time and Bella had a very emotional meltdown, because she became particularly attached to the rocking rooster and she “didn’t want to say goodbye” #dramaqueen. Godstone Farm is THE place to visit this half term as there is so much to see and do.

Set within the pretty countryside of Surrey, Godstone Farm is packed with lots of fun filled activities to keep your children entertained during this half term. Bella and her friends really enjoyed the Bug Safari. The staff are brilliant with the children and they are really engaging. The girls were given a drawstring bag filled with a magnifying glass, binoculars and a pot to collect mini beasts, a bug fact sheet, a bug tick off list and a pencil.

The girls really enjoyed exploring the forest and searching for pictures of insects so that they could tick them off their list. Once they had completed the challenge, the girls returned their bags to the Bug Safari hut and they each got a certificate. Be warned you can’t really take your pram on this bug hunt, because the paths are quite hilly and bumpy, but there is an undercover area for you to leave your pram, whilst you complete the activity.

The girls really enjoyed their close encounter with the Tortoise. Once again the staff were amazing and the girls were asked questions and they were taught some facts. The girls also had cuddles with the rabbits in the animal handling barn. Flo really loved being able to touch and stroke the animals and she did it with a big smile on her face.

There are lots of baby animals at Godstone Farm at the moment including lambs, kids, piglets and ponies. Flo got really excited about the sheep and she kept showing off her baa-ing skills. Her impression is a cross between a baa and a roar, so she made a few people (and sheep) jump as they walked past. Bella and her bestie Elsie got the giggles when a Piglet kept sniffing their shoes.

After we explored the animals, our gang had lots of fun on the trikes. They played for ages before they all sat down for a picnic. You can buy snacks and hot drinks in the Indoor Play Barn and there is also a good selection of hot foods, salads, sandwiches, cakes and drinks in the Tea Room. There are plenty of benches outside and a few tables inside the Tea Room.

Whilst we stopped for a toilet break, the heavens open and it poured with rain, so we made a quick dash to the Wiglets Play Village. This fantastic indoor play area has different themed stations, so children can play Vets, Construction or Chefs or wherever else their imaginations take them. There is also a lovely dedicated baby area, with lots of toys and there’s also a ball play zone.

Thankfully the sun came back out so we headed to the amazing outdoor play area. From a huge sandpit filled with toys, buckets & spades, to swings and double swings, to slides, climbing frames, zip wires and lots more, you really are spoilt for choice. The Top Shop Snack Shed, situated next to the outdoor play area provides refreshments, so you can treat yourself to an ice cream on a hot day.
