We had a day at home yesterday so I set up a simple and fun sensory activity for the girls. I haven’t done one in ages so it was well overdue. We have been sent some fabulous sensory toys by Moluk and I was eager to put them into action, I’m really a big kid at heart. I wanted to share, because the girls were entertained for over an hour and after all sharing is caring.
Firstly, I dusted off the Tuff Tray, filled a plastic storage box with warm water and I added a Mini-U Bath Bomb https://www.miniu.co.uk. The girls LOVE a Mini-U bath bomb, it has a sponge toy hidden inside and it changes the colour of the water. Next, I made the SnoBall Play by Zimpli Kids https://www.zimplikids.com and gathered a few Dinosaurs for a snowball fight.
SnoBall Play by Zimpli Kids is amazing! It actually looks like real snow. Bella literally played with it for over an hour, non-stop. The OOgie family by Moluk https://www.moluk.com were making snowmen, having snowball fights and they even made snow angels. You can make SnoBall Play in minutes, simply fill an appropriate container with water, sprinkle in the SnoBall Play mixture, Stir for a couple of minutes and you’re ready to play.
Flo really enjoyed exploring the Sunny and Cloudy sensory brushes by Moluk. She was brushing the dinosaurs, tickling her face, terrorising Bella with them and she had the occasional chew on them to. They are such a cute design and would be great for all ages. My favourite was the Plui Rain Cloud, it makes the best bath toy and it really does provide endless fun.
As you can imagine Flo was pretty drenched by the time she had finished playing and there were a few puddles on the kitchen floor, but she had heaps of fun. The thing I love most about Moluk toys is that they are so simple but really effective. They really do encourage children to use their imaginations and the opportunities for open ended play are endless.
Both of the girls were obsessed with the OOgie family. They are super stretchy and you can stick them onto any smooth surface. Bella was chatting away to herself and playing with the “Daddy & baby”, she was totally engrossed and 100% using her imagination. It was really lovely to sit back and watch both girls play so nicely, in their own little worlds.
