It’s amazing that sibling rivalry kicks in so early. I already have to play referee and my girls are still so young. At just 10 months old Flo is already showing signs of her ballsy personality. She crawls up to Bella and boldly tries to snatch a toy right out of her hand, her big Sister normally responds by shoving her or smacking her in the face.
Just recently Bella has become bolder, standing up for herself more and most definitely inserting her authority. I suppose that comes with age, so I think this goes hand in hand with her bullying behaviour towards her younger sister. It can be very hard to witness, because most of the time it’s unprovoked.
Flo always looks heartbroken as she crawls over to me to grass her big sister up. The funniest thing is that Bella always confesses before I’ve even heard the fallout. Numerous times Bella has run up to me and said “I’ve just pushed Flo” or “Mummy I’ve just hit Flo on the head”, well they do say honesty is the best policy!
To be fair Flo isn’t entirely innocent. When I’m feeling particularly brave, I push a double trolley around Asda to pick up a whole load of shopping that wasn’t originally on my list and this is where her devious side comes out. For the next 20 minutes, whilst Mummy shops, she makes it her mission to terrorise her sister as much as possible.
This involves a lot of hair pulling with no intention of stopping, even though Mummy has used her stern voice (#notevenbothered), scratching and continuously sticking her foot in Bella’s face. If she could talk I swear she would say “karma’s a bitch Sister, you’re not so tough when you can’t run away”. Although they seem to have a love/hate relationship, they do adore each other really!
It’s the best feeling watching Bella make Flo laugh and smile. Flo is desperate for her big Sisters attention and she always tries to copy her. Having these two, little divas around certainly keeps life interesting!
