We are the house of lurgy. Flo kindly shared her cold so now Bella and I have joined the snotbag gang-the joys! We sacked off our usual Friday plans and we stayed in the warm at home. As I mentioned in my previous post, I really want to do some more sensory activities with Flo, so I gave our Tuffspot tray a wash, grabbed a box of Rice Krispies and various cups and toy animals.
The girls loved it! It’s such a simple idea but it kept them entertained for ages. I probably should of done the activity after lunch because they ended up having dry Rice Krispies for lunch-oops. Although really simple, it’s a great sensory idea for developing those all important motoring skills.
I encouraged Flo to scoop up the Rice Krispies and pour them into a muffin tin. Bella was using a giant fork to scoop up the Rice Krispies and pour them into a cup. It’s also a great activity for imaginative play, Bella was making a ball pit for her animals and Hot Chocolate for Flo.
I’ve seen a really good idea for a Valentine’s Day Tuffspot Tray so I think I’ll give that a go! I’ll share the ideas for that soon. If you don’t have a Tuffspot Tray you could always get a large tupperwear box or a under bed storage box and that should do the trick.
We have such a busy weekend so it’s typical that we are all poorly! Fingers crossed that we are all feeling more human tomorrow! I hope you are all having great weekends.
