We’ve had a whole month in lockdown. It’s not been easy but we’ve got to stay strong to beat the virus. Here is my weekly round up of my new top ten lockdown activities. I hope my ideas are helping, I’ll keep them coming for as long as we are in lockdown.
Number 1: Little Brian Art Station
The thing I love most about this Little Brian Art Station is that both girls can use it at the same time, without having an argument! One side has an easel and a clip for paper so you can get painting with the six Little Brian Paint Sticks provided and the other side is a chalkboard with six Chalk Sticks provided. Number 2: Build a Bear at Home
The girls are obsessed with cuddly toys, I think Bella may have some kind of teddy addiction. Can you imagine her excitement when she got to build her very own bear at home! Number 3: Kinetic Sand
If you’ve never tried Kinetic Sand before you must, it’s amazing! The girls literally played with it for over two hours in the garden. I brought a Kinetic Sand Folding Sandbox from Smyths Toys for just £29.99 and it’s worth every penny. Kinetic Sand never dries out and it’s really easy to mould, I also brought them a Kinetic Sand Dino Dig set, which I know they are going to love.
Number 4: Toucan Box
Toucan Box is such a genius idea, you get two great craft activities delivered directly to your door, every fortnight or month. Bella was sent an Easter craft box and it included this brilliant Mini Greenhouse, which the girls loved making. It also included a Bunny Racer which is next on our list to make. Number 5: Imaginative play with Rockawaytoys
The Easter Bunny brought Flo this super cute Janod Mini Story Princess set from Rockaway Toys https: www.rockawaytoys.co.uk and Flo absolutely loves it, she’s literally not stopped playing with it. This set is great for imaginative play and it includes a wooden princess, prince, unicorn, horse, witch, frog and coach. There are lots of different worlds to choose from including City and Firefighters.
Number 6: Letterland Magnetic Letters
Bella is really enjoying learning phonics and letters, so we got out our Learning Letters Magnetic Letters and we played all sorts of games. One of Bella’s favourite games is spelling out words by me sounding out the letter or referring to the character names. You can also use these letters to teach vowels. Number 7: Tonie Box
The best thing about Toniebox is that it really encourages children to stop, listen and use their imaginations. This audio storytelling box is brilliant, it’s very robust and easy for little hands to operate and there is an impressive selection of Tonies to choose from too. Number 8: Play Foam
I’m a big fan of learning through play and this Playfoam Shape & Learn Alphabet from Learning Resources https://www.learningresources.co.uk/playfoam-shape-learn-alphabet-set is brilliant for that. Using the Playfoam provided, you have to make the shape of the letter on the card. It’s non toxic, never dries out and there are 8 different colours to choose from.
Number 9: My Kingdom Books
These My Kingdom Books are brilliant, they are so clever! The girls were sent a personalised book each and when you point a smart phone or tablet at the pages, the pictures come to life! Number 10: Fab Hair by Galt Toys
The girls had so much fun with this Fab Hair kit by Galt https://www.galttoys.com/fab-hair.html This kit was only £5.99 and it includes blue and pink chalk to colour your hair, a purple and pink hair extension piece, beads and a wand. Flo wanted pink hair like Poppy from Trolls and Bella wanted blue hair. I didn’t quite have the patience to thread beads into their hair, but they had a blast anyway!
