When it comes to bedtime stalling Bella is the Queen. She will pull all sorts of tricks out of the bag, just to keep you in her room a moment longer. Her negotiating skills are on point and she will keep throwing questions at you, until you cave. Tonight when I gave her a firm “goodnight, I’ll see you in the morning” her response was “but Mummy I can’t wait that long to see you again”#charmer.

I stand my ground whilst trying my best not to get cranky, however my girls know my weakness, the hunger card. The one excuse I can’t ignore is when the girls tell me that they are hungry, it’s crazy but I really can’t stand the thought of them going to bed with a rumbling tummy. Their timing is perfect, the word “hungry” is always dropped just after I’ve brushed their teeth!

Just look at that cheeky face, she knows she has Mummy whipped! If I’m winning at life and their bedtime routine is going to plan, I normally offer them some buttered bread with their milk and one episode of Peppa Pig, before stories and bed. However, tonight this Mama is poorly, so I was willing to give anything just to crawl over the finish line, hence Bella sitting smugly in her bed, whilst stuffing her face with a wrap, Bella 1-Mummy 0.

Thankfully Flo literally falls asleep as soon as her head hits the pillow. She has dropped her daytime nap, so she is always more than ready for bedtime. What are your little ones bedtime stalling techniques? Do they pull out the hunger card? And most importantly, do you give in?
