Is anyone else obsessed with wooden toys? Don’t get me wrong, the girls do love their noisy, electronic, plastic toys. They both constantly play with their toy garage and Flo is obsessed with her walking & barking dog, but I find that wooden toys capture the girl’s attention for longer because they have to use their imaginations.
This weeks Insta Shout Out goes to an incredibly talented, small business called The Wooden Bunny. I’ve recently ordered this beautifully handmade, wooden The Very Hungry Caterpillar set and Bella could not wait to get stuck in and explore. She genuinely has the biggest smile on her face whenever she plays with it.
Bella is one of those people who laugh at their own jokes. She thought it was hilarious that once the The Very Hungry Caterpillar “with a big fat tummy” munched his way through all the food, his “pudding” was in fact the poor butterfly. Not quite how the story works Bella. This lovely set is great for encouraging little ones to use their imaginations and to tell their own story.
I always try and encourage some down time after dinner and this The Very Hungry Caterpillar set is absolutely perfect for that! Poor Flo didn’t get much of a look in, Bella has become rather possessive with her set and she keeps it in a box and tells Flo that she cannot touch it because it’s her pet. As soon as Bella is at Pre School it’s the first thing Flo finds to play with #sorrynotsorry.
