We had a lovely morning at The Little Play Cafe in Tunbridge Wells today. They run a fab Toddler Time class every Friday at 9.30am and for just £3, your child can take part in a fun-filled, interactive session which includes messy play, arts & crafts and songs with instruments.
Today’s theme was Old Macdonald’s Farm! For messy play, they had a Tuff Spot tray filled with hay, fake flowers and farm animals. Flo particularly enjoyed eating the hay and Bella was obsessed with the flowers. She kept running around trying to offer them out, I was half expecting her to pull out a money bucket at any second.
The crafts activity was brilliant! It was so simple and easy, so great for independent toddlers that insist on doing it by themselves. I was instructed that her chick had made it to her art wall of fame and that I had to “put it on the wall as soon as we get home”.
After the crafts, all the kids are encouraged to sit in a circle and they are handed all sorts of instruments and the lovely The Little Play Cafe team, sing nursery rhymes. The kids loved it! Bella was far more interested in eyeing up the mini cup cakes (just like her Mummy) but Flo loved it and had lots of fun making a beeline for everybody’s instruments.
I’ve so far been really impressed with The Little Play Cafe. If you haven’t been before I would highly recommend that you check it out. It’s worth keeping an eye on their Facebook page too, as they run all sorts of amazing events with limited spaces, so they get fully booked really fast.
