We haven’t been arty crafty in ages so this morning Bella tried abstract art for the first time and she loved it! It’s one of the easiest arts and crafts a toddler can do and I thought I’d share the idea with you, because it’s not something I’ve thought about trying before. I can’t take credit for the idea as it was actually inspired by Bella’s latest Mr Maker by Toucan Kit.
This has been Bella’s and my favourite kit so far as she could literally do it all by herself. I just cut and prepared some of the paper shapes for her last night and laid it all out on the table for her to make after breakfast. She really got into it and was jabbering away about her ‘under the sea adventure’ picture.
Abstract Art is not only an easy craft for toddlers to do, it also encourages them to express themselves and use their imagination. I’m definitely going to try this again, but next time I think I’m going to find different textures for her to explore and get arty with. Here is her finished masterpiece!
