After a busy weekend of celebrating my hubby’s Birthday and my cousins 18th, drinking way too many cocktails, Baby Shower with my NCT mummy friends and generally feeling hungover all weekend, a lazy Sunday was needed today. With Easter around the corner I decided to set up the girls Easter/Spring Tuff Tray. I’ve been collecting bits and bobs for the past couple of weeks, so I was very excited to set this tray up.
I wanted the girls to explore different textures as well as encouraging them to use their imaginations. Both girls were excited to get stuck in and Bella excitedly shouted that this “was her favourite tray ever”. The beautifully made wooden Ducks and Rabbit by Lanka Kade and Spring Flower Pegs by Peg Friends (both on Instagram), kept Bella entertained for hours.
I ordered plastic flowers from Amazon to help create a spring vibe. I cut out shapes from different coloured fabrics from Hobby Craft and I made wiggly worms out of pink Pipe Cleaners. I brought pom pom Bunnies, egg shaped farm animals and colourful bird nests from Poundland. The white Bunnies, bigger bird nests and polystyrene green and yellow eggs are from The Range.
The wooden Spring Star Bouquet are from Little Love Makes on Instagram. Both girls were using them as Fairy Wands and Flo was waving it around whilst saying ‘magic’, it’s her new word. The cute little chick teddies are from Wyevale Garden Centre. Flo mostly chewed on everything, she’s currently cutting her first canine, so she found the Wooden Bunny from Lanka Kade very comforting.
Bella was lost in her own little world where Bunnies were “villians” and the Ducks were locked up in “Nest Prison” until they gave up their chocolate eggs (Bella’s words). She literally played for a couple of hours with the tray. I love how Tuff Tray activities encourage the girls to play together, it also makes the perfect down time activity.
I’m starting to collect bits and bobs for a Weather themed Tuff Tray. I’m also thinking about doing coloured themed Tuff Tray’s for the girls too, so watch this space. Have you got any Easter themed activities up your sleeve?
