We have had the best day at Knockhatch Adventure Park in Hailsham today, we were invited to their Half Term Terrors and it certainly didn’t disappoint. To celebrate Halloween and Half Term, there are a few extra, spooky activities such as live street performances, Containment (which is absolutely terrifying) and a ghastly scavenger hunt and these are all included in your ticket price, which is a massive bonus. Knockhatch Adventure Park is packed full of fun activities, you can easily spend the whole day and leave still wanting more.
The girls could hardly contain their excitement when they first arrived and they were absolutely thrilled to see that there was a real Police Officer and Police Car in the park. They were able to try on Police uniform and Bella was over the moon when she got to push the 999 button to make the car lights flash, they were also given a sticker and a picture to colour in. We met up with our lovely friends so there was six children in total and they literally played and ran the whole day.
The thing I love most about Knockhatch Adventure Park is that is has such a great variety of indoor and outdoor attractions and there is something for all ages. The Dragon Castle is so impressive, it’s absolutely huge and perfect for brave explorers, there are bridges to cross, tunnel slides, ropes to climb but beware of the Dragon in the middle of the castle, he has a bit of a temper. There are also benches scattered around the castle, so it’s the perfect place to have a rest stop and keep an eye on your children whilst they play. There is also a Rowing Boat Lake, next to the castle which is included in your ticket price.
The girls absolutely love the Chair ‘O’ Plane Ride and they bounced on the Jumping Pillows with their friends for ages. There are two pillows, one for smaller kids and one for big kids and adults and there is also a cafe right next to the pillows which sells a variety of hot and cold drinks, snacks and ice cream. Right behind the Jumping Pillows, there is an Owl display arena, which hosts regular bird shows throughout the day. The Wave Runner Water Slide, is next to the Jumping Pillows and it’s a must for thrill seekers, the thirty-two-foot tower will get your hearts pounding, this is also included in the price of your ticket.
The girls really enjoyed exploring Chestnut Wood Adventure Playground, it’s full of slides, wooden climbing frames, swings, zip wire and there’s a big sandpit in the middle. During warmer months the Pirates Cove Paddling Pool is great for keeping your little one’s cool. The whole family can enjoy a round or two at the Enchanted Forest Crazy Golf. The Avalanche is so much fun, grab a Ringo, jump on but make sure you hold on tight because you whizz down the slope pretty fast.
The Lost World Playbarn is pretty epic and it’s a must-see for dino lovers! The Playbarn has been transformed into a Jurassic play jungle with tall canopy’s to climb, Dinosaurs that move and roar and terrifyingly tall slides. You can easily spend an hour in The Lost World Playbarn and your kids will love it so much that they will never want to leave. The Dino Safari Simulator Ride is great fun but be warned it’s a tad scary for small children, this is also included in your ticket price and it’s right next to The Lost World Playbarn.
Foxes Run is great fun and a great place for a rest stop or a break from bad weather. Whose team are you on, Foxes or Chickens? Join the battle and protect the Chicken House by blasting naughty foxes with sponge balls, using the Giant Sponge Ball Firing Canons. The girls love Froggies Soft Play Centre, it’s absolutely huge and they played for over an hour, there is also a small area for babies and a cafe that serves hot and cold drinks, chocolate treats, muffins, Pizza and Jacket Potato.
Half Term Terrors
Containment
I just had to start with this Halloween attraction, it’s so simple yet so terrifying! This live action, scare maze will make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck! Walk through the dark, narrow maze, with flashing lights and horrifying screams. The creepy Clown at the end did it for me, especially when he said “where are you going?” and then started to chase us with a chainsaw, the recommended age is for 12A, please don’t take your young children, you will give them nightmares!
Live Street Entertainment
Throughout the day between 12pm-4pm, there are various Live Street performances by the freaky Acting Moon Events by The Lost World Playbarn and the Owl Display Field. The girls were absolutely fascinated and particularly liked the circus type acts. The Zombie actors were a little bit too scary for Flo and she literally turned on her heels when she saw them, she is definitely a flight type of girl.
Halloween Scavenger Hunt
Unfortunately we didn’t complete the Scavenger Hunt, the girls were having too much fun and were far too busy running. It did look fun though, you search for the hidden clues and solve the anagram and you can pick up your prize on your way home. I saw lots of children excitedly running around spotting clues, so we will definitely give it a go next time.
As well as all the amazing indoor and outdoor attractions there are also lots of lovely animals to visit including the Continental Giant Rabbits and Domesticated Rabbits, Dexter Cows, Bennet’s Wallaby, Donkeys and Ponies, Llama’s, Pigmy Goats and lots more. I have always been impressed with Knockhatch Adventure Park admission prices, its so reasonable and great value for money, an adult ticket costs just £16.99 during peak times or £9.99 off peak.
