Is it just me or does anyone else’s baby wake up at night as soon as your head hits the pillow? I’m lured into a false sense of security most nights with the hope that maybe, just maybe, I’ll get a couple of good hours sleep before Flo wakes for her feed & then bam she’s wakes up!
I have a theory. I think Flo secretly has a mummy monitor and she’s the one spying on me and I’m oblivious to the fact that I’m in some sort of secret, survival of the fittest, Mummy boot camp, just to keep me on my toes and make sure I don’t forget who’s boss. Can you tell I’m overtired?
To be fair, Flo had a leaking, nappy situation. She had done an epic pee (Thank God it wasn’t a poo) and it had leaked all over her sleepsuit & seeped through to her sleeping bag. This is exactly why I have two spare. I’ve been there, done that and got the t-shirt with my fair share of midnight changes, when Bella was a babe.
This confused Flo greatly and she thought it was morning (every parents worst nightmare at 12am). As I stripped her off as quickly as I could , avoiding eye contact at all costs, she started to pull out every new trick in her book to get my attention!
She started to blow raspberries, bubbles, screeching and even tried to commit suicide a couple of times by attempting to roll off her changing table-I stayed strong.
I didn’t break until after a bucket load of milk, I popped her onto my chest for a quick wind and Flo pushed herself right up so that she was staring me square in the face and gave me the biggest, heartwarming smile-damn you baby and you’re cuteness!
Who could resist that smile??!!!! I didn’t take pics during the leaking, nappy fiasco, as that would of been my lot. Flo would of switched into work it for the camera mode and there would of been no getting her back to sleep!
