We celebrated National Day of Play today At Gymboree Play & Music’s very own 90’s themed Fun House Party! Classic 90’s hits filled the gym and everyone was in the mood to spice up their lives with a whole variety of party games and usual Gymboree fun! Lucy was our stand in for Pat Sharp and as always she had the children on their feet and having fun in no time.
There were balloons, unicorns and hand puppets scattered everywhere and various sensory stations to explore. The party was started with a Gymboree classic and favourite, the Rainbow Rope and everyone worked as a team to shake the rope really fast and to move it around in a circle. Flo gets really excited when you have to shake it really fast!
Everyone had the biggest smiles on their faces whilst they danced to the Hockey Cokey and excitement levels were running wild on the 90’s Air Log Boat Ride. Little ones had to hold on tight as they rocked side to side. Those more daring, braved the giant waves as the Air Log gave them a seriously bumpy ride.
It was then time to work as a team to hunt for little fishes and everyone was given a bucket for collecting. Once all the fish were gathered they were all thrown onto the parachute. The parachute was going wild as the fish were flung up into the air, the children loved seeing the fish fly around.
Next it was superhero time! Everyone was given a superhero cape and they had to complete the Power Ranger obstacle course. Mum’s and Dad’s were encouraged to play with their little ones, during free play and everyone embraced their inner Spice Girl, whilst they shook their Pom Poms and danced to the Spice Girls Classic hit, Spice Up Your Life.
As the party was drawing to an end, the girls had lots of fun trying to catch bubbles with their bubble catchers. We made our very own Fun House Parachute House and the children had lots of fun singing sleeping bunnies and hopping around. The Fun House Party was a jam packed hour of fun!
