This lucky Mama was treated to a Spa Weekend at Rowhill Grange Hotel & Utopia Spa (Thank You Hubby) with one of my favourite’s aka Auntie Tracy. We arrived around 12.30pm on Saturday afternoon, check in is normally 3pm, so what better excuse than to head to the bar, whilst we waited for our room to be ready, after all, we were Mum’s on the loose.

The Hotel

The hotel generally has a very friendly and relaxed vibe. The staff are always happy and very approachable and wherever we went, the service was brilliant. The room was clean, spacious and it had all the amenities you would expect at a 4 star hotel. The room was on the cooler side and the bed was so comfortable.

Rowhill Grange Hotel is the perfect retreat for a girly weekend, hen weekend or a romantic getaway as it ticks so many boxes. The hotel is also set in picturesque grounds, so after we had stuffed our faces with Afternoon Tea we waddled around the grounds and enjoyed the sun and fresh air. There are also a couple of outdoor seating areas where you can eat or enjoy a drink in the sunshine.

Food & Drink

There is one main restaurant area where Breakfast, Dinner and Afternoon Tea is served but it’s really big and has different seating areas and rooms. You can also enjoy light bites & snacks in The Elements Bar & Lounge. The Breakfast was well varied, you could help yourself to a continental buffet which includes Breakfast Smoothie, Fruit Salad, Yoghurt with a selection of toppings, cereals, toast and pastries. There was also a Breakfast menu where you could order a Full English and other Breakfast favourites.

Our Spa package included £70 towards food. We didn’t fancy any of the starters at the RGs Restaurant so we went straight for a main. We both chose the Duo of Lamb; Slow Braised Shoulder, Seared Cutlet, Dauphinois Potato & Carrot Puree and it was delicious. Be warned that the Seared Cutlet is pretty rare.

The great thing about the food allowance is that you can use it in RGs Restaurant or Elements Bar & Lounge. After our dinner we then headed to the Elements Bar & Lounge and ordered our desserts; Sticky Toffee Pudding and Vanilla Cheesecake. We can highly recommend the Kira Royal Champagne Cocktails, they were delish but deadly.

Afternoon Tea

For my Birthday, my Husband’s parents kindly treated me to Afternoon Tea and added it on to our Spa package. We loved the fact that you could pick and choose your sandwiches, most Afternoon Teas you get what you’re given. The portion size was just right (although we both didn’t manage to eat it all) and there was a lovely variety of cakes including; Berry Cheesecake, Chocolate Chip Banana Bread, Rasperry Cake and Macaroon. The scones were fresh out of the oven and still hot when served.

Rew & Refresh Spa Break

We had the Renew & Refresh package and this included; Overnight stay, 40 minute treatment, full use of Spa Facilities, £35pp to spend on food and a full works Breakfast. Utopia Spa is fab, we loved the setting, the atmosphere and the fact that it had a separate pool area upstairs, so your not on top of everyone. There is a Jacuzzi, Sauna & Steam Room, Swimming Pool and a Hydrotherapy Pool. There’s also a phone upstairs by the pool where you can call and order drinks.

There is a lovely relaxation room by the entrance to the Spa with super comfy loungers, soft lighting and relaxing music playing softly in the background. A big shout out to Becky my Masseuse, she gave me an amazing massage and was so knowledgeable about all the Temple Spa products best suited to my skin and skincare routine, whilst giving me so many handy skincare tips.

We loved the relaxed vibe and enjoyed the fact that we could just chill out in our dressing gown, pretty much anywhere in the hotel, without feeling out of place. You could even eat in the RGs Restaurant in your dressing gown, we were tempted but we didn’t want to put anyone off their brekkie.

The Verdict

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rowhill Grange Hotel & Utopia Spa. We both left feeling refreshed, replenished and well fed. I would highly recommend the Refresh & Renew Package and we shall definitely be back for some more pampering soon!
