Today, this lucky lady went to Build a Bear in Bromley for the first time! Her lovely Great Nanny LiLi gave all the Great Grandchildren money for Christmas and they have all built a Bear with it.
Although Bella has many (probably an understatement) cuddly toys, I really liked the idea of the Build a Bear experience and the fact that the bear (or troll in this case), will be a lasting, memento of LiLi.
There is a wide selection of bears to choose from, but thankfully the choice wasn’t too overwhelming. I was a bit worried that Bella, would find it a bit too much, but she took it all in her stride.
The kids basically choose their Bear, they then help to stuff it and put a heart inside the bear to show its loved (this part went over Bella’s head). They then take their bear to the Build a Bear bath and they can brush them and pretend to clean them.
They can then choose an outfit & accessories for their bear (this is where it gets expensive). Bella’s Bear is rocking a very sparkly pair of shoes, specially chosen by Bella!
After they have suited & booted their bears, they then officially name them and they get a personalised birth certificate for the bear (all very cheesy but really sweet).
It was really fun but an experience that Bella would definitely appreciate more when she’s a couple of years older. She’s clung onto her troll all day, so I think it’s safe to say she truly loves it!
They also put the bear in a little box after, which I thought was a nice finishing touch!
I think four would be the perfect age for a Build a Bear experience. They also do Build a Bear Birthday parties!
