The girls and I embraced our inner Willy Wonker this afternoon and we had lots of fun making our very own chocolate emjoi’s with the brilliant Chocolate Emoji Maker by Zimpli Kids. As you all know, I’m a bit of a Bridget Jones when it comes to generally making things (I’m still trying to get the image of Bella’s Birthday cake disaster out of my head), but this kit is so easy to use that even I couldn’t mess it up.

Bella really enjoyed making hers. She kept stopping every other second to lick the chocolate off her hands, in the least possible lady like way. Flo is a bit too young for this activity so I made hers whilst she tried to get in as much trouble as possible, every time my back was turned. It’s such a clever idea and you can create all sorts of amazing emoji’s.

I was so impressed (and relieved) at how easy this kit is to use. There is enough chocolate for you to make two chocolate bars and the kit includes two trays, a template sheet giving you easy, medium and hard designs to choose from and sachets of milk, dark and white chocolate. The kit also includes instructions with a step by step guide, that is really easy to follow.

First, you pour warm tap water into a bowl and pop in your chocolate sachets so that they can melt. Set your alarm for 3-5 minutes, choose and cut out your chosen emoji template. Then place your emoji template on the bottom of your tray, using a bit of tape to keep it in place. Following the instructions you then start to create your emoji face.

Once melted, you pierce the bags, making a small hole and then you create the features using the dark chocolate, fill in the blanks with the white chocolate and then cover the whole emoji with milk chocolate. You then pop it in your fridge for 30 minutes or until it sets and voila, it’s as easy as that! The Chocolate Emoji Maker kit would make an excellent Christmas present and it’s only £9.99.

Unfortunately I can’t tell you what it tastes like because the girls demolished them so fast, I literally didn’t get a look in. At one point Flo actually kissed her emoji chocolate bar and there were lots of “mmmm” sounds going on whilst they were scoffing their faces, so I think it’s safe to say that they are delicious.
