I don’t know about you but I sometimes struggle to think of gift ideas for Grandparents & Great Grandparents. It’s my lovely Nan’s (LiLi) Birthday this week and I wanted to give her a personal gift from the girls. So I thought long and hard and suddenly had a light bulb moment! Giraffes are her favourite animal so why not Papier-mâché her one!
I wanted to share the idea with you all, because it actually makes quite a lovely gift. It’s so easy for young kids to do and you can buy all sorts of animals, shapes & sizes from craft shops. Bella is really getting into papier-mâché now. Next on her list is a Horse for Nana and a Triceratops.
She also made LiLi a Birthday card. We went for a Mermaid theme (I think Bella’s alter ego, Mermaid Bella was the inspiration behind the idea). For the tail, I brought some glittery paper from Hobbycraft and I used the Tail template from one of our Amazing Crafts Company craft kits. For the body, we used pink glitter glue and Bella made the balloons with her fingerprints.
Bella is quite proud of her creations. So much so, she wants to keep the Giraffe for herself! But on the other hand, she is really excited to give LiLi her present. Whilst she was doing papier-mâché, she kept saying that “LiLi is going to love it”. I’m sure that will be the case!
