Tonight Flo has started to play a fun game called “how many times can I break out of my room, before I send Mummy over the edge?” It’s a super fun game and I’m having lots of fun playing door guard, not! On holiday last week, Flo learnt a new skill. She learnt how to open doors-every parent’s worst nightmare.

Flo is great at escaping. No matter how tight you pull her high chair straps, buggy straps, shopping trolley straps and even the car seat straps, she manages to wiggle herself free. She would give The Great Houdini a run for his money. She has a very determined and strong willed personality and she gets a kick out of pushing the boundaries.

After the 50th attempt of Flo breaking out of her room. This Mama was getting hangry so we were heading towards dangerous grounds. I decided enough was enough and I launched Operation Barricade. I used Flo’s wicker drawers and a box of toiletries that I still haven’t unpacked from our holiday #sorrynotsorry and I barricaded the door so that she couldn’t pull the handle down.

Boom! It worked, Mummy 1-Flo 0, thank goodness for that, I was seriously losing the will to live. Flo wasn’t very pleased that she could no longer open the door and she had a go at a few fake meltdowns. I just popped into her room, scooped her up and kept putting her back in her bed. She eventually got tired and fell asleep around 7.45pm.

Thankfully Bella is the complete opposite and is as good as gold at going to bed. If she isn’t tired, she simply plays quietly in her room and she takes herself to bed when she’s ready. I suppose you can’t win them all! Does anyone else have a mini escape artist on their hands?
