I can’t quite believe that Bella will be starting school in 6 months time! Where have those years gone?! Over these next few months, I plan to do lots of activities to prepare Bella for big girl school, one activity in particular is becoming a firm favourite and that’s Reading Eggs.
Reading Eggs is an educational app that teaches children from ages 2-13 years old how to read, write and problem solve, through fun and interactive activities, videos, stories and songs. Bella and Flo have been using Reading Eggs for over two weeks now and they both absolutely love it. I always try and keep screen time down to a minimum, so it’s very reassuring to know that the girls are learning through play whilst they are on the iPad.
Bella’s favourite game is the handwriting one, she always has the biggest smile on her face when she’s successfully drawn a letter. Flo really enjoys listening to Nursery Rhymes and she also loves the problem solving games, with the help of her big sister of course. The girls love playing Reading Eggs together, it’s really lovely to watch Bella guiding Flo and helping her complete tasks.
Reading Eggs really is great for all ages! It’s never too early to learn the alphabet and start practicing phonics. It’s also great for practicing those important fine motoring skills, with the problem solving games, you have to tap an object and keep your finger on it to move it along. Flo found it a bit tricky at first, but she’s a determined little sausage and she kept trying until she could do it.
Reading Eggs really does hold both of the girls attention, they are always fully engrossed whilst playing. Bella now recognises lots more letters than before and she is beginning to sound out the letters correctly too. Thanks to the Coronavirus we haven’t been going out and about as much, so I’m very thankful to Reading Eggs for keeping the girls from climbing the walls.
