We’ve had such a lovely day. After a lazy morning, we headed to Holywell Bay. The weather was just perfect and the girls were really excited to have fun at “the seaside”. We visited this beach last year so we were well prepared for the trek across the sand dunes, but with four pairs of hands and two sets of shoulders for the girls to ride on, we got to the beach and settled in no time.
Bella is such a water baby and she couldn’t wait to dip her toes into the water. We don’t call her Mermaid Bella for nothing. Flo was a little more cautious and a tad precious about her feet touching the sand. She also made a few non impressed sounds at the freezing cold temperature of the water, but she soon got used to it and really started to have fun.
Flo’s highlight was watching the dogs run in and out of the water. She thought it was hilarious when they shook themselves dry or barked. She is obsessed with dogs and she made a few doggy friends today. We based ourselves by a stream so that the girls could paddle and splash safely.
Holywell Bay is such a beautiful sandy beach. It’s family and dog friendly, there’s plenty of space for everyone. You can park for 4 hours for £4.50 and it’s a short walk from the car park to the beach. Be warned, there aren’t any toilets on the beach, so if you have little ones, you may want to take a travel potty just in case.
St Pirans Inn is located right next to the beach. It’s family & dog friendly and the menu is well varied. The food is really good and the portions are very generous. They are pretty relaxed so if you did need the loo before you head down to the beach, you can pop in there.
We lasted two hours before we decided to pack up and head to St Pirans Inn for lunch. Flo needed a nap so after lunch we decided to drive to Watergate Bay so that she could sleep in the car. Instead of napping she sang all the way stopping only to ask where Bella was because she was riding in Nana & Grandad’s car.
We had a lovely cream tea at The Watergate Hotel and soaked in the view of the beautiful Watergate Bay Beach. Flo happily sat and chilled in her pram whilst Nana & I scoffed our scones. Bella enjoyed a paddle in the sea with Daddy and Grandad before joining us at the hotel. Bella really enjoyed her scone and she’s discovered that she likes clotted cream.
Tomorrow we are planning on visiting Springfields Fun Park & Pony Centre in the morning, followed by a visit to Pentewan Sands Holiday Park for lunch and explore their facilities before checking out Pentewan beach.
