We’ve been doing lots of learning through play at home recently and the girls are loving it! Flo has really grown up in the past couple of months, her vocabulary is really coming along. She’s dropping new words everyday, which mostly involves bossing us around and she’s really beginning to show her ability to problem solve, she definitely gets that from her Daddy. 
I’ve recently brought this amazing Super Sorting Pie by Learning Resources on Amazon for just £19.99 and it’s brilliant. It’s such a great learning tool and there are so many ways to play, that the fun and possibilities are endless. The girls played by the rules for a while before setting up their own games, Bella made a “delicious fruit salad for her Dinosaurs” and Flo made a Caterpillar.
The Super Sorting Pie has so many benefits; it’s great for fine motoring skills and developing that all important pincer grip, it’s good for hand-eye coordination, colour recognition, problem solving, patterns and numbers and it makes a great invitation to play activity. Flo found picking up fruit with the tweezers tricky at first, but she was so determined and kept trying until she nailed it. Check out her tweezer squeezing expression and I dare you to keep a straight face!
I am really impressed at the quality of this toy. The fruit shapes are solid and the pie container is really sturdy to. It’s very compact so it’s really easy to store away neatly. The girls really enjoyed working as a team to complete each task and they were both completely engrossed and fully concentrating on pinching their tweezers.
The Super Sorting Pie is aimed at children aged 3-10 years. The game includes two giant tweezers, 60 4cm sized fruits (7 fruits in 5 different colours), plastic pie and removable divider and 3 double-sided activity cards. If you have more than two players, you can buy extra jumbo tweezers separately, for £12 for a pack of 12.
I’ve heard so many amazing things about Learning Resources, award winning toys and I’m so glad that the girls have finally got the chance to play with one.
