How is everyone? I hope you’re managing to stay sane? As promised, I said I’d be blogging with ideas on how to keep your children entertained. Here are some really easy, craft ideas for you to try at home.

Bird Wand Kits by Baker Ross

The girls had great fun creating their very own Bird Wands with this Bird Wand Kit by Baker Ross, £4.95 https://www.bakerross.co.uk/bird-wand-kit I’m not going to lie, I also had fun! This kit includes the cut of out bird shapes, sturdy straws and tissue paper strips. You’ll need your own colouring pens or paint to decorate.

You can be as creative as you like! Why not add some sparkle to your wands and let your little ones loose with glitter glue? Or you could cover your birds in gems and feathers! The girls want to make a feathery bird next.

Norman the Slug with the Silly Shell

Inspired by one of the girls favourite books, these snazzy snails are so easy to make. I drew the slug shapes the night before and cut up some tissue paper so that the girls could get stuck straight in. To make these snails all you need is:

  • Paper plate
  • Paper to draw the slug shape
  • Little Brians Paintsticks or you could use crayons or colouring pens
  • PVA glue
  • Sequins or glitter
  • Tissue paper cut into strips

Umbrellas

This is such an easy craft activity and one that your toddlers can get stuck into independently. All you need to do is cut a paper plate in half to make the shape of the umbrella, decorate your umbrellas using Little Brian’s Paintsticks, colouring pens or crayons and give your children stickers for the finishing touches. You’ll also need a pipe cleaner for the umbrella handle.

Rain Clouds

Once you’ve done the preparation these rain clouds are super easy to make. If you don’t have cotton wool balls, you could cut up a sponge and dab white paint to create a fluffy cloud. To make these rain clouds you will need:

  • Blue card cut into a cloud shape
  • Cotton wool balls or white paint and sponge
  • PVA glue to stick the cotton balls on
  • Strips of tissue paper and cello tape to stick them on
