One of the biggest things that put me off letting the girls play with makeup was the amount of nasties in the ingredients, not to mention the absolute mess they would make. Just the thought of Flo being let loose with lipstick makes me break out in a cold sweat, maybe I am being dramatic, but seriously that girl can cause a messy catastrophe in a matter of seconds. I have also found that children’s makeup stains the skin, clothes and sheepskin rugs, a reminder when the girls got their mitts on a makeup palette that came free with one of their magazines.

Each item is gentle and completely fine to use on sensitive skin. Flo gave each eyeshadow and the blusher a good shake and I can confirm that it doesn’t stain clothes or the sheepskin rug, if that isn’t a Mum win, I don’t know what is. The girls took it in turns to give each other a makeover, Flo went first, she was completely relaxed and trusted her big Sister’s makeup skills, brave girl. Bella smothered Flo’s eyelids with the Gold Mineral Eyeshadow, which strangely suited her, she splattered a heap of blusher and Fairy Stardust over every inch of Flo’s face and taught Flo how to perfect the trout pout, so that she could paint her lips with the lipstick.
When I gave Flo the Fairy Mirror to check out her new look, she said “ooh I look good” whatever floats your boat girl. Bella, obviously older and wiser, was reluctant to let her little Sister loose on her face, it took a bit of gentle persuasion to finally get her to sit in the torture seat, I mean makeover seat. Let’s just say that Moaning Myrtle took over and she complained the entire time that Flo was coating her face with makeup, but Flo really enjoyed herself and took her makeup skills very seriously.
Bella had lots more fun painting her own lips and entire face with the Pink Lipstick, she gave the Joker a run for his money. She was in fits of giggles and had an absolute blast.
