Swimming isn’t just a sport, it’s a such an important life skill. Although I can swim, I’m not much of a water baby and I’m ashamed to admit that I never take the girls swimming. It’s a definite mum guilt of mine. I am however booking Bella swimming lessons in September.
Bella was kindly gifted this amazing Turtle Pack and it’s such a clever product. I would go as far as saying it’s a genius idea. The Turtle Pack is a swimming aid, that is worn on the back and it’s designed to help children learn how to swim safely, but also making it a fun experience.
The Turtle Pack is designed for children aged 2-5 year olds or the equivalent weight of 15-30kg. It consists of a super comfy and stretchy neoprene vest and a foam turtle shell. Bella’s Turtle Pack fits her like a glove. She was so comfortable in it, that she didn’t want to take it off and she played whilst wearing her Turtle Pack for over an hour.
There are three parts of the shell and each segment can be removed to reduce buoyancy as your child’s confidence grows. The shells can also be used as a kickboard in swimming stroke development and poolside games. The Turtle Pack is such great value for money, costing just £49.99, it has an estimated life span of 10 years and I think it’s worth every penny.
The neoprene vest features two straps, each with a three-point clip to hold it securely in place. The straps are easily adjustable and the straps are a little tricky for a child to undo, which I am really happy about, because it can stop children from being tempted to whip their Turtle Pack off in the water as their confidence grows. Florence is a monkey when it comes to straps, so this will definitely put my mind at rest, when she’s old enough to wear one.

Although armbands have been worn by children for years and years, they are actually an ineffective swimming aid. They restrict arm movement in the water and they make children float vertically in the water.
