We’ve been doing lots of baking since self isolating and the girls love it! I’m a bit of a Bridget Jones when it comes to baking, so kids baking kits are a must in my household. I love how convenient they are and they definitely make it easier for children to get involved from start to finish.
Ever since the C bomb turned the world and our lives upside down, kids baking kits have vanished in supermarkets, us parents are obviously on the same wave length. Thankfully I’ve got an amazing small business called Craft & Crumb up my sleeve and their lovely children’s baking kits have been a real life saver so far. I’ve recently ordered the Unicorn mini cupcake and craft activity kit and Dinosaur mini cupcake and craft activity kit and they are both fantastic!
My mini helper Bella couldn’t wait to get stuck in and she helped by putting the cake cases in the cupcake holder and she also mixed the cake mixture. Whilst the cakes were cooking nicely in the oven, Bella decorated the cupcake toppers, she really enjoyed this part. There are 4 mini cupcake and craft activity kits to choose from including; unicorn, pirates, dinosaur and fairytale.
The girls tried their best to wait patiently whilst the cakes cooled down. They looked like a pair of puppies, faces on the worktop willing the cakes to cool down as quickly as possible. The mini sets don’t include icing but all you need is 100g icing sugar, 50g butter and a dash of milk. Bella wanted green icing so I added a dash of green food colouring.
I then set up a little decoration station for each of the girls so that they could decorate their own cupcakes. The girls wasted no time smothering their cupcakes with green icing, stopping occasionally to lick the spoon. They then both inhaled their cakes in about 3 seconds flat. What I love about Craft & Crumb is the quality and taste of their products, they always taste like you’ve made them completely from scratch.
