We got up and out and arrived at Hollywood Studios at 8am in hope to beat the queues and check out the new Star Wars attraction. Be warned, Hollywood Studios opens at 7am, so we didn’t quite manage to dodge all of the queues, but with the help of our Fast Passes we managed to do and see a lot. Hollywood Studios has a more relaxed vibe and it’s quite ordinary compared to the other Disney parks, there wasn’t much va va voom.

You feel like your walking down old town Hollywood and there is 1920’s themed music playing in the background. There were a few characters dressed up as 1920’s film stars and they interacted well with visitors. We managed to jump on the Star Tours ride, without having to queue much and we also did parent swap whilst Flo entertained kids and big kids with her endless supply of bubbles.

Next the girls met one of their favourite Disney TV stars, Vampirina. The queues for the character meet and greet weren’t long at all, we also met Pluto. The first Disney Junior Dance Party was cancelled due to technical problems, so we had a drink stop and watched the Star Wars show, where Storm Troopers and Darth Vader roamed up and down the stage, shooting their guns and flashing their Light Sabers.

We used our first Fast Pass on the Tower of Terror, which was quite frankly terrifying! I was the biggest baby and screamed a lot. It doesn’t just drop you once, oh no, you are tortured and it drops you several times, before taking you right to the very top, the lift doors open just enough for you to see how high up you are and then you are dropped all the way to the bottom.

We headed back to the Disney Junior Dance party and it was brilliant! The girls loved it! It was very entertaining, there were flashing lights, a Mickey shaped disco ball, great visual effects and the tunes were pumping. The presenters were amazing, they were so animated and they brought lots of great energy to the stage.

Flo was up on her feet dancing and she really enjoyed copying the presenters dance moves. There were a couple of favourite Disney stars that joined in with the fun including; Vampirina, Doc McStuffins, Timon and Mickey Mouse. Each character were bringing different dance moves and all the kids were encouraged to copy. Bubbles filled the room and it also snowed at one point, if you have little ones I highly recommend you book a fast pass as you’re not going to want to miss out.

We then checked out Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which is a themed world dedicated to Star Wars. You literally feel like you’ve stepped into a Star Wars movie, it’s so well done and very authentic. We were a bit hot and bothered and hungry by the time we arrived at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge so we ended up eating at Docking Bay 7, it wouldn’t of been our first choice and I’ll tell you why.

It was majorly overpriced and the choice was limited. The food was a bit bland if I’m completely honest and the portions are quite small considering the amount of money you have to part with. After lunch, we had an explore and made the most of the great photo opportunities. The most funniest thing happened, as we were making our way down the steps to pick up our buggies, two Storm Troopers appeared out of nowhere.

Flo literally did a runner! She took one look at the Storm Troopers and she was off. She legged it all the way to the gift shop, smart girl. We stopped for a cheeky cocktail, unfortunately I was so excited about my glowing cocktail, I can’t remember the name of the bar! The girls had a chocolate milkshake that was literally the size of them.

We then made our way to the amazing For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration. I was right in my element, singing along until my hearts content. It was so much fun to be able to sing along freely, without looking like a weirdo. The two narrators were brilliant, they were really funny and very entertaining.

At the end of the show Anna, Kristoff and of course Queen Elsa, came on the stage and Elsa sang Let It Go, there were special effects and it snowed in the theatre which was extra magical. We unfortunately didn’t get the chance to make the most of Toy Story Playland as it was super busy. We didn’t really fancy queuing over an hour for the Slinky Dog Dash, so we decided to head back to the villa for a dip in the pool.

This Disney expert tool will help you plan an itinerary based on the ages of your children and it includes character meet and greet points and times of shows etc. It also has a crowd calendar which is well worth looking at because it tells you which days to visit to avoid the crowds.
